Operating modes

Selmo defines operating modes for clear operability. These operating modes are generally defined at a higher level in the entire system.

Manual mode allows actuators to be moved or switched using manual control buttons.

Automatic mode is the operating mode in which the sequences run automatically as logically defined.

It must only be possible to start a sequence if all the corresponding safety functions, as defined under personal safety, are in the correct position and ready for operation.

The only exception is when safety functions are deactivated for adjustment or maintenance purposes. In this case, the operating modes must be deactivated and operation may only be carried out using appropriate enabling devices or reduced speeds.
